Let’s Taco bout it…

Tacos Del Cartel opened at 2901 David Drive, Metairie. LA back in November and has been serving authentic Mexican street food California style ever since.

I stumbled up on their Instagram account with a simple hashtag searching for tacos in the Nola area. I was instantly blown away by the decor designed by JL Studio, being a interior decorator it definitely caught my eye. At that point I really didn’t care about the food I really wanted to visit for the aesthetics.

To my surprise the food and drinks was amazing! Everything on offer is priced at $23 or less, with the exception of the party trays. For the appetizer I had the QUESO DIP $6.00 served with two flour tortillas. For the entree I mixed and matched 3 TACOS All tacos come served on corn tortillas. $12.99

  • SHRIMP – Battered deep fried gulf shrimp served with onions, cilantro, peach and chile morita aioli.
  • PASTOR- Chiles marinated pork, served with guacamole and sliced fresh pineapple.
  • CHICKEN TINGA – Shredded chicken in tomato and chipotle sauce, served with pico Gallo and Romano cheese.

My drink of choice was the EL PATRON Patron sliver, pineapple juice, Cilantro, beer syrup, and angostura bitters.
